Program Description
This one day seminar will provide participants an opportunity to gain knowledge about topics currently of great interest in the lactation community. Confusion still exists on what a mother can take and still safely breastfeed. Learn the reality of medication transferring to breastmilk and up to date resources to use. With the increase in inductions and multiples, learn what risks exist for the late preterm infant and how we can support the breastfeeding couplet. We will discuss how to evaluate the validity of research, so you can pinpoint studies you want to use to support your evidence-based practice. Lastly we will discuss hot topics in milk banking, how to refer potential donors and who uses donor milk.
